Mitsubishi Electric factory automation
Four families cover most of what Mitsubishi Electric puts on a factory floor: FREQROL inverters, MELSERVO servo drives, MELSEC controllers and GOT operator terminals. They are built to work as a set, which is why machines often end up entirely on Mitsubishi kit.
We carry 3,623 Mitsubishi items across drives, servos, controllers, HMIs and the cables, modules and accessories that go with them — current generation and the previous one, because most plants are running both. This page maps what you have to what we can supply.
What you have and what we supply
Mitsubishi moves in generations and the naming makes the mapping mostly predictable — a 700 becomes an 800, a J3 becomes a J4. What matters more is which of those generations we can still put on a truck, and for several families the answer is both.

The one that catches people out. An FR-A800 will physically replace an FR-A700 in most installations. But Mitsubishi state plainly that A700 parameters cannot be copied to an A800 — you have to read the old settings and enter the equivalents, or run the automatic parameter conversion in FR Configurator2. If the drive is on a production line, that is the part to plan around.

What matters when replacing or specifying
- ▸An A800 drops into an A700 footprint. Its parameters do not. Mitsubishi state this plainly: A700 parameters cannot be copied to an A800. Read the settings off the old drive and enter the equivalents, or use the automatic parameter conversion in FR Configurator2. The mechanical swap is the easy part — budget the commissioning.
- ▸E700 and D700 are still supplied, so a spare does not force an upgrade. If a working E700 or D700 fails, we can supply the same series rather than putting you through a generation change on an unplanned outage.
- ▸Match the series to the load, not the horsepower. An F800 on a fan or pump uses materially less energy than an A800 doing the same job, because the control strategy is built for variable torque. An A800 on a press or hoist does things an F800 cannot.
- ▸Sizing an A840 is by current, not kW. The 400 V A800 range is coded by rated current — an FR-A840-02160 is the 216 A frame. The 200 V A820 range uses kW instead. Check which convention your model number follows before cross-referencing a capacity.
- ▸Servo generation affects the motor, not just the amplifier. Moving from MR-J3 to MR-J4 means checking amplifier, motor and encoder together. We stock MR-J3 cables and accessories as well, so keeping an existing system running is often the cheaper option.
- ▸Regeneration is a specification decision, not an afterthought. Overhauling loads — hoists, unwinds, high-inertia decelerations — need either a braking resistor to burn the energy or a regeneration converter to return it. Sizing that at design time avoids nuisance E.OV trips later.

Replacing a drive, servo or controller?
Send us the model number off the unit and tell us what the machine does. We will confirm what supersedes it, flag anything that will not transfer directly — parameters, encoders, network cards — and quote it. If the same series is still available, we will tell you that too rather than pushing a generation change you did not ask for.
